I'm in 911/Emergency Management. The long shifts are not that often. I just like to whine. I wonder if that gentleman knows about the EXIF software? It shows more info about your pics than you'd ever be able to jot down ... and it's FREE! I'll look up a link and put it in the equip/gadget/software thread here ... giggle ... if I can find it (I'll be loading some smilies too)

I've had an inquiry about posting family and other more personal pictures so I've added a category 'MEMBER GALLERIES'. In order to set these up to the members wishes, each will be just like a board withing the category. If a member wants a personal gallery just ask then I'll add it with the name you want, who can see it, give it a password if you only want certain people to see it, etc. Any questions about personal galleries, just ask.

Sam, that's a cool job, but I bet it can be really stressful!
My 'whine' is about the furlough they love to hand contractors like myself.

Added a few smilies. If there's a particular one anyone wants let me know and I'll try to find it and add it.

I WISH it would rain here. One last day this week. Having pizza, ice cream and brownies for lunch for Bob's retirement. So, at least I won't have to bring anything.

... raining here again this morning. I've been in the kitchen since 4:30 a.m. making a pan of Mexican cornbread for a co worker's birthday party today at the office. Strange for a BD party but that's what they requested. It is the recipe with a layer of cheese then a layer of sausage/onion then another layer of cheese. It's almost like eating a sandwich. It's got jalapenos, cream corn an' stuff in it too.

That sounds interesting! Now I'm hungry. I'll find something after I drop my son and my niece off at school.

Annnnd, another work week rolls around. I work tomorrow, as there are no holidays in my industry- just like yours, Sam. Only things is, being a contractor, I get no holiday pay. Oh well, I have to take some furlough time tomorrow anyway. Sigh.

No rain here (still). I got off work at 12:30, picked up my son at the sitter's, and took him to Cold Stone for ice cream. I had a buy one get one coupon.
Came home, and took a nap for a little while. Didn't want to get up, but I also didn't want to mess up my schedule for tonight. I still have to be up at 03:30 tomorrow for a regular work day. But it's my last one of the week!

First, moonbeam, it's great to see you continue to visit. I have heard from Judy, but she's very busy. I hope she doesn't loose interest completely. I have mentioned the site to a couple of people, so far no one has asked for the link. It's a free site so I can keep it going. Maybe we'll pick up some more members as summer vacations wind down.
I spent some time cutting up a large tree top that had broken out and fallen across my ATV trail at the old place at Brooks. Mom's old wood cookstove is still there and I LOVE to cook on it so the wood will come in handy this winter. It adds a lot of heat to the house to so maybe I won't have to shut off the water.
While I had the ATV out hauling the wood, I took a short ride. Found two logs absolutely covered with hericium mushrooms . They're said to taste like lobster or crab legs. I don't really think so, but they are good and I'll try to go harvest them this evening.
I'll try to get some photos up later today.

Mmmmm, mushrooms! But I don't know enough about wild ones to chance picking any I might encounter. Other than the ones I may find in my yard now and then, I never see any anyway.
That's nice that you have a ready supply of wood. I have a fireplace, but rarely use it. I have a friend who tried using his fireplace as the main source of heat last winter. I think he ultimately decided it wasn't any cheaper, by the time he bought enough wood for it.
