When viewing this thread, if you see an image that reminds you of something and you have a photo of that memory, no matter how vaguely it relates to your memory or the photo, post your photo with a short narrative of your memory.
Suggestion: As the thread grows longer, if you see a photo from far back on the board use the 'quote' feature so we know which photo you remember.
Photos can be new, old, doesn't matter. You can post directly from your 'My Pictures' files on your computer using our 'Add image to post' button. I'll try to locate a youtube video walking you through the process of adding photos to posts.
The only restrictions that AN imposes is that any photo posted must be the property of the person posting (copyright issues) and any image posted must conform to Proboards terms of service (no explicit porn, graphic violence, promotion of drugs, abuse etc. etc) you know the drill.

To start our new activity board 'That reminds me of...' I'm posting this photo of an old wheelbarrow. It reminds me of my father in law, Leonard E. Morris. It came from his estate and now will be added to a garden for birds, bees and butterflies that I'm currently starting. Leonard 'Grandaddy' was a people person. I've never known anyone who was so genuinely interested in people. Grandaddy was an honest to gosh war hero, though he never talked about it. He was a member of the 101st Airborne Division and jumped at Normandy. He was decorated for saving several members of his platoon by heroic action above and beyond the call of duty. I loved that ol' man.

Your picture reminded me of a farmyard My wife`s cousin lives in a rural cottage next to a farm and I took this pic of the farmers Herdwick sheep last summer just after they had been sheared. Thanks for the interesting history with your pic Sam.

Mic, your farmyard photo reminds me of the farmyard where I grew up. It's all overgrown with vegetation and trees now but I can remember when my dad built this old pole barn, the cows that I milked in the stalls, the hay in the loft and the fuzzy little kittens that were always there. This is a recent photo, the old barn is still there. The avian center that sits partially on the farm that I grew up on uses it for backdrops for their photo promotions regularly.

Your Old Barn built of logs reminded me of this boat built entirely with driftwood on the shore of the River Mersey at New Brighton. I don`t think its very seaworthy!

Your shot of the pier reminded me of donkeys on the beach at St.Annes near Blackpool

That reminds me of one of my dad's mules. Dad loved miles and donkeys. The mule is ol' Jack. The implement is a 'buggy rake', a rake for raking up mown hay into rows to be either 'shocked' (piled in piles 4 to 6 feet tall, smaller at the top to shed rain) to dry and season before stacking (around a pole 20 to 30 feet tall) the center support pole was to keep the haystack from tipping over in high winds.

I guess that can't remind me of a seagull or a raccoon so I'll wait for a legit picture.

Hi Samantha - You can go back to the picture of the pier that would remind you of the seagull.

If I catch a free minute, I will scan some old photos from my youth and post those. Film was scant way back during and after WWII but I do have a few that are special to me.

Barbara and froglady, this is a very informal thread. It is meant to have fun with and give the opportunity to share ANY photo you have. New, old, doesn't matter and Mic is right, a seagull would be fine for his boat on the beach or my pier shot. The old pic of my dad raking hay could remind you of almost anything from your past. The subject matter can be very broad. Just use your imagination. It might even be fun to go back through your files to look for something. I get caught up in looking at my file photos sometimes.
At any rate, just have fun and please know, it is very encouraging just to know you're visiting the thread.

Sam your picture of the mule raking hay reminds me of this one I took of hay bales a few years ago.
