Maidstone I remember it well:
I remember going to Penden Heath with my sisters and friends walking up though the hedges to the Heath this was a passage way from the very top of Wheeler street up to the Heath also going to the sheep wash as it was called then to catch newts in a jam jar.
I remember the Danish Bacon yard opposite our house the Broom factory in james street Ottawades sweet shop , Sharps fish and chips Dog and Gun Pub and the Greyhound Pub where we used to go with mum and dad and have a vimto and a packet of crisps,
Going to the pie and mash shop with mum to get pease pudding and faggots just further down wheeler street.
Getting the bus at the sessions house to go hop picking in the school walking down wheeler sreet to go to school picking up friend on the way with my sisters.would love to hear from anyone who went to Eastbourgh school and then went on to Vinter girls
