Here's a few pictures from trips to Wales. The first one is a dam built in the Victorian era...thought it was neat in that instead of making the "face" of it smooth, they put an occasional brick sideways so the end would stick out of the face. That's what created the effect of the water streaming down that way...what a neat idea!

Random countryside that looked scenic, so had to pull over and get a quick picture.

Another picture of the countryside, this one was taken from the hill that Montgomery Castle sits on. The castle wasn't all that spectacular, but thought the area around it was scenic for whatever reason.

Mount Snowdon - wish this one would have come out better. I think the mountains look too dark, maybe because the photo was taken into the sun?

That dam with the water cascading down is amazing! It's also amazing that the dam has lasted so well. I credit both facts to the builders. My what an accomplishment! I've never seen one anything like it. I agree on your scenic shot. That lake, the cottage and the countryside are just beautiful. If you took any shots of the castle, I'd love to see them. I've never been to a castle. Though majestic in shadow, a strong backlight killed you on that last shot of the mountains. I'm sure they're clear in your memory though. Thanks so much for sharing ALL these great photos.

Nice shots, ratchets. It's cool to see places that I'd never ever get to otherwise.
The dam is really interesting looking, and I really like the fog/mist in the first scenic shot.

Still jealous, Ratchets! I love that last one, I don't remember seeing it before, and still completely in love with that first photo I think you should go back and different times of year and catch the trees in different seasons

I was sure that I commented on the last photos but I don't know what happened to my comment. I especially like the colors in the first one with the road? across the top. It's a great photo. That second view of the water washing over the stones of the dam just grabs me too. Though the castle is in ruin, the history behind it is still very apparent. Love seeing photos from distant places. The castle photo may be enough inspiration to get me back to my 'saga' of Morgun the Troll. (long poem about ... yep ... you guessed it ... a troll).
