moonbeam;
Thank you for your kind act of assistance. I don't have a clue as to what is giving some registrations so much difficulty. As for your interest in awe~naturale, you are most welcome to stay as a member. I would love to see some of your work and also have your input on building this message board.

Thanks, Sam. I have been looking at your pictures and have to say.. they are very good! Mine are nowhere near your quality, I'm afraid.
Any that are halfway decent are usually by accident, I'm afraid. LOL.
I don't know why some people are having registration issues either. I use firefox, but I don't know that the browser would have anything to do with it. In any case, I'll help as best I can!

moonbeam - I have my fingers crossed that the registration issues have worked themselves out. Don't worry about the quality of your photographs. This was never intended to be a professional site. I am a novice and very new to digital photography. I am hoping for more advanced folks to pop in and help me, you and anyone interested in photography. There's not really much here yet. I hadn't put much up.
In the interest of bandwidth ... How do you feel about being restricted to using a host like photobucket or imgur? The board won't last if this is not acceptable to membership.

Well, I look at it like this. We only get a certain amount of free storage, and if you allow attachments, it will be gone in no time. Therefore, I am in favor of all images being hosted. That's how I run it on my board as well, to be honest.
If people need help with how to use those types of services, that can be easily provided.
I will work on getting some pictures posted. I'm definitely a novice, though not necessarily new to the digital scene.

I had done a search for boards for digital photos as I needed help getting started with my first DSLR. I found one that just happens to be in the UK. They use hosts exclusively. I don't mind and it lets members post all the photos they want. I've used several hosts and it seems that 'imgur' is the cleanest and easiest to use that I've tried. I haven't tried 'tinypic'. Thanks for you input.

I haven't tried imgur yet. Maybe I'll check it out though. Photobucket has always done what I needed, but that doesn't mean there might not be something I like better.

I only have free accounts at photobucket. They are cramming so much stuff, videos, ads, etc. that I can hardly get to my albums there anymore. Imgur is much easier.

I only do the free stuff as well. I don't mind the videos, but lately it seems like it's loading soooooooooo slowly that it's been driving me nuts.

Same experience with photobucket. Takes forever to get to the upload button. Here's a link to the site in the UK. They are really nice folks and know a lot about digital photography. digital-image.proboards.com/
