The small amount of rain we've had locally have made the 'wood ears' pop! These mushrooms are edible but they reportedly don't have much taste. For those that eat them, they are most often added to other dishes (especially soup) and take on some of the flavor of the dish they're added to. I haven't tried them, I probably should. The 'wood ear' gets it's name from its shape and texture. Some of them really do resemble a human ear. \

Fascinating! Good clear detail. You have me watching every twig and moist spot in my yard for natures beauty. Thank you.

Fascinating! Good clear detail. You have me watching every twig and moist spot in my yard for natures beauty. Thank you. We've had just a little rain over the last few days now. I'm hoping to get Gracie out into the woods early this a.m. on the chance that a few fall 'shrooms have sprouted out. Thank you les,
