A common tree here is the Honey Locust. It has long spiky thorns and a seed pod that looks like a HUGE string bean or snap pea. The seeds (beans) from the pods can be gathered, ground and used as a coffee substitute. I haven't tried it yet but I do plan to. This is the pod the seeds are in. Here are a few of the seeds (beans). These would need to be gathered, dried and then ground fine enough to brew. And if anyone knows a palmist ... I'd LOVE a free reading
