Gracie has sustained a very serious snake bite. She is currently hospitalized at her vets in Peterstown. Gracie is in guarded condition receiving meds and fluids via IV. Dr. Richards is confident that she will survive. We are unsure of how much tissue damage will result on her left rear paw and leg. Dr. Richards was uncertain that a Copperhead's venom would cause so much tissue damage so quickly and feels that Gracie could have been bitten by a Rattlesnake. I did not see the snake. Dr. Richards felt it better that I leave and come home so as not to distract Gracie. She needs rest along with her meds and fluids. She will be hospitalized at least until sometime tomorrow (6-15-18). I will call this evening before closing and again tomorrow morning as soon as the hospital's phones are manned. I'll update as I can.

Thank you les, and mic, I called to check on her around 4:30 P.M. yesterday before they closed at 5. They were not very encouraging. They said that she was maybe a bit better and advised me to call before I came to pick her up today. I hope there were able to keep the tissue damage to her paw and leg to a minimum.
