When I saw the price they were asking I have laughed so hard so sarcastically in so long, it actually felt good too, but it goes to show though on how Nazi they've gone. I deleted everything in my account I had there including my account so they can't lock me away from nothing, talk about cons which is something they're good at. $400 lmao!!

That is why I stopped using it and now use Photo.google.com a bit strange to use at first but easier once you get used to it.

@linette, if I can still get in I want to do the same thing, take everything out and close my account. Their customer service has been getting more shoddy every year.

People are attacking them from Twitter to Facebook and I don't much blame them, with that being said @admind, can you imagine how miffed their paying customers are right now after being served with shoddy excuses for their downtimes and now this. It wouldn't surprised me not one bit if some have already threatened them, Photobucket will not last my friend and I predict they will close and lose everyone but, the trolls. The trolls are gonna have a hay day with them.

If I was a paying customer for years regardless of their downtime and only stored my photographs there and all of a sudden I get that in my mail box I would be miffed big time.
I'd be pulling myself out of that site so fast, I hope people do realize that though that they can download or upload their own files from photobucket, pending on how much they have in there it could be painstaking.
I didn't have much so I just deleted it all and started over at ImgBB.
I'm thinking that PB did this intentionally knowing there are gonna be some people who are gonna cough up $400 because they're that foolish to, the rest are gonna leave and PB will close eventually after they get their money's worth.

I do have copies of everything, but still some have edits that I'd like to keep.

With photobucket's lack of communication with their scheme they also blocked their paying customers as well but, someone squealed to their lawyer I'm assuming because all of a sudden all them paying customers got their images back. It's amazing what people can get away with on the internet even though there are still laws and rules to the web world this one takes the cake when it comes to images and photos. I hope Flickr gives a fare warning as well Sam, I know when I had an account at Fotki they kind of gave a warning about them getting rid of free storage, I heard from someone on another site and when I googled it there it was right there, they actually think people check that stuff everyday I guess. So, I removed everything and closed my account. When it comes right down to it is you really can't trust no image hosting site, if they're free then for how long?!?!? I wonder how long it'll take for photobucket to recover from this or how long will it take for them to close. They really messed things up good this time.

I'm not sure on photobucket's reasoning. They may feel that the money generated and the bandwidth reduced by cancellations will make them more profit. I've been meaning to google their move and read some current reviews, just haven't gotten around to it. I'd rather spend my time here playing with friends

I'm sure it's got a lot to do with being money hungry, filling their pockets. This was most definitely not the way to go about it that's for sure, they not only just lost their customers but, they have lost the trust of many many many people.

Since it's not a proposal, already done, accounts locked etc, I'm very happy to see all the negative feedback on the net. I really do NOT wish them well.
