Your area has been hit hard. I hope that recovery is speedy. I did hear that all the flood water had uncovered some gold deposits, maybe you could pan a little toward a trip to the beach (kidding).

I've never actually been to a coast. Some day, though! So, we ended up going to Georgetown, in hopes of spotting some big horn sheep. No luck. Went up Guanella Pass a little ways, and the colors were nice. Stopped at the buffalo herd overlook on the way home, and for once, the herd was there. When they're around, there are 30-50 of them. That was the only wildlife we saw today, but it was still a great trip.

The American Buffalo is a great piece of American history. I'm glad they were not hunted into extinction. I wish there were plenty of free range to support the herds forever. Last Monday, I got to see an American Bald Eagle circling near a nest site here. The sky was blue, the sun was shining through it's tail making it brilliant white. Love it. They are not that common here.

I love eagles. Well, any raptor, really. We have several bald eagle nesting areas semi-nearby, but I've not gone to any.
I just uploaded a bunch of my weekend pics to photobucket. But, to post them here one at a time would be really time consuming, so I think I'll just start a thread in the appropriate area and leave the link to the album instead this time.

hmmm ... not sure where my reply went ...... but, I peeked at the album from your link. I'll take a better look but I already saw aspen! I've only seen it in photos, but I love aspen. There white bark, brilliant yellow leaves against a blue sky is almost always visually stunning. Thanks for sharing.
The way our schedule runs, once in a while the breaks fall consecutive so I'm changing from day shift to evening shift tomorrow. I get a 4 day break! Maybe I can get some grass mowed today.

I'm having problems with message notifications. I always add a member account not related to admin to check these problems. I could not access my dummy account and had to make a new one. The member will appear as m0nkey. He's usually manageable unless loosed.

Making a post with the m0nkey account to fully activate this account.

LOL... Darn. I thought we had a new member! But yes, I've always found it good to have a "regular" account in addition to my admin account, for testing purposes.

Over time I've learned that some things do not affect an admin account but do a basic member account. If someone has a problem that's site related I usually sign in as m0nkey and see if I can duplicate it before turning in a support ticket.

Took a couple of snaps of a female hummer on the feeder today. Not as sharp as I'd like. There was also a strange male there. I'm thinking he is migrating through. I didn't get any photos of him.

That's why I try things as a regular user, too.

Got a chore done yesterday I'd been putting off. There was a young cherry tree scion growing out from under the car port. I dug it up and transplanted it down where the driveway turns in from the highway. There was already one on one side so now, hopefully, I'll have one on each side.

Woke up today to a dusting of snow. Must have had some rain too, as I see there's water standing in our "almost non-draining" drainage ditch.

brrrrrrrr ........ not ready for snow yet.
Have to admit, it's thrill to have a new member. I'd encourage everyone here to invite friends and family to our group. I got to speak to the one friend that's a member here the other day. Hopefully he will join in activity soon.

I'll be out of town for a conference from Sunday (tomorrow)until Wednesday or Thursday. I'll take a laptop and hopefully have wireless or ethernet in my room. I'll be a couple hundred miles north of here. It will be interesting to get a look at the fall foliage a little farther north. I'll try to check in as often as possible.
